Lee and Garry prepare for 300-mile charity trek

LEE PEYTON and Garry Mackay — aka @300miles — are preparing for 60 hours of hell . . . a 300-mile human powered journey across the Outer Hebrides.
The Edinburgh-based firefighters will cycle, run and kayak from the south of the island chain to the most northerly tip.
Lee told the all tweet journal: “We will complete this in less than 60 hours and, with a bit of pain and effort, raise £25,000 for CLIC Sargent.”
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity providing children and their families with tangible support such as care workers, social workers and Homes from Home accommodation during their treatment.
Lee, pictured right with Garry and some of the kids at CLIC Sargent’s Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick, Ayrshire, added: “This has been an amazing venture and along the way we’ve met some fantastic people who do a great job for the parents and children affected by cancer and leukaemia. Greg Noble, 13, the ‘face’ of the challenge, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in November 2006.
“He gives blood every four weeks and is now getting a lumbar puncture and chemotherapy direct into his spine every 12 weeks. His courage and humour has been an inspiration.”
The brave duo have received a lot of help along the away from generous sponsors and supporters including @cycleworlduk, Kari-Tek in Ayrshire, Colin McWilliams and @mikecoulter. You too can help them reach their £25,000 target by visiting www.300miles.org
